This intensive month-long program focuses on three core areas of study, equipping students with the tools to engage deeply with the Quran:

1. Surah Al-Ahzab: A Comprehensive Study
2. The Quran’s Relationship with the Bible
3. Tadabbur Methodology: How to Study and Contemplate the Quran

Taught by Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan & Other Instructors.

June 10 – July 7, 2025 (Fridays Off)

Islamic Center of Wheaton (ICW), Chicago

Class 1 | 7:00–10:00 PM

Unpacking One of the Quran’s Most Complex Surahs by Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan

This unique surah addresses:

  • The Prophet’s personal life and the controversies surrounding it – both in his time and today
  • The intense political and wartime context often misunderstood today
  • Why the Prophet’s wives are considered "Mothers of the Believers"
  • Revolutionary social guidelines for Muslim society
  • The hypocrites’ tactics to undermine the Prophet’s mission
  • Profound spiritual insights woven throughout
  • How all these elements form a cohesive divine message
Class 2 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Exploring Shared Narratives

The Bible's stories, parables, phrasings and other elements are addressed in various ways within the Quran. Both Muslim and non-Muslim scholars are fascinated by these connections, and the simplistic view that the Quran merely borrows from biblical tradition does not withstand serious investigation. Let's study this relationship and some of its intricacies together through a number of case studies.

This isn’t about proving right or wrong – it’s about understanding the Quran on its own divine terms.

Class 3 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

How to Study and Contemplate the Quran

Tafsir is an ocean: a millennium and a half of brilliant scholarship on each ayah of the Quran, produced by scholars spanning centuries and continents.

This practical component will help you:

  • Distinguish between tafsir (scholarly interpretation) and tadabbur (personal contemplation)
  • Develop parameters for meaningful personal reflection
  • Engage in guided exercises suitable for both scholars and beginners
