NOTE: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident. Bayyinah can not accept international students. US visa-holders are not eligible for the Dream program.
2. Be able to commit to a full-time program and financially support him or herself during the program.
3. Be at least 18 years old* and a high school graduate by the time the program starts.
*Certain exceptions are made for exceptionally qualified applicants under the age of 18. This normally means they are a Hafidh of the Qur’an and will be living with their parents or a guardian during the program. Please contact us before applying if you are under 18 and feel you meet these requirements.

We recommend downloading and marking your progress using the 2015 Dream Application Checklist.

Before Applying:
1) Be able to read Quran with good basic tajweed. Students should be able to read without mixing up letters or vowel sounds, and with minimal hesitation.

2) Be able to comfortably and correctly write Arabic script. Students should be able to correctly connect letters and correctly place harakaat (vowel markings). Students should be able to write comfortably with minimal hesitation.

Before being admitted
Students may submit an application before completing 3 & 4, but will have to complete them in order to receive admission
3) Memorize ayaat 1 - 53 of Suratul Kahf and be able to recite these ayaat fluently from memory.

4) From Arabic with Husna, complete Unit 1 Introduction to 8.3 Fragments-Idhafah (Part 2 Special Mudhafs). Videos are available on BayyinahTV. All of these videos are under UNIT 1
(If you have successfully completed and understood material from the 10 Day course, Access course or Quran Intensive you may opt to go directly to the Arabic with Husna assessment in #5 below).

5) Test your knowledge! Are you ready to apply? Click STEP 2 for information on testing your knowledge using the AWH Practice Tests.

What if I don't meet these criteria?

Don't worry! We are confident that with a little effort and practice dedicated students can meet these requirements. Download the 2015 Dream Admissions Checklist for detailed information on how you can work towards meeting these pre-requisites.

Once you have completed STEP 1 you're almost ready to apply! Review the information below to prepare for the application assessments. There are three application assessments: Quran, Writing, and Arabic with Husna
All assessments are conducted online via phone call or Skype

Quran Assessment:
NOTE: Applicants may only take the Quran assessment once. This assessment can not be retaken.

The Quran assessment is designed to

1) Test the applicant's memorization of Suratul Kahf ayat 1-53. The interviewer will pick any ayah in Suratul Kahf between 1-53 and ask the student to recite starting from that ayah. Applicants should be able to recite fluently with little to no hesitation or mistakes.

2) Test the applicant’s fluency and comfort in reading the Arabic language, particularly the Quran. Applicants should be able to read without confusing the letters or vowel sounds. An applicant who shows excessive difficulty reading will not pass the assessment. The assessment is conducted via phone or Skype.

Applicants will be asked to:
1. Recite a portion of Suratul Kahf 1-53 from memory.
2. Read a passage from the Qur’an to the interviewer.

Writing Assessment
NOTE: Applicants may only take the writing assessment once. This assessment can not be retaken.

The writing assessment is designed to test the applicant’s ability to recognize and write Arabic letters properly. Applicants should be able to write simple ayaat from the Qur’an and correctly connect Arabic letters. Writing samples in which letters are transposed or are incorrectly connected will not pass.

The interviewer will dictate a passage from the Qur’an for the applicant to write. Applicants may also be asked to write a portion of the Quran from memory. Applicants will then be asked to take a picture or scan their dictation and email it to the Admissions Committee within thirty minutes.

Students can prepare for this assessment by writing Quran such as Suratul Fatiha or Ayatul Kursi from memory and then checking with the mushaf.

Arabic with Husna Assessment
NOTE: This assessment may be retaken. If an applicant would like to retake this assessment, he/she will have to wait a minimum of 30days before doing so. This assessment can only be retaken once.

Students will be tested on their knowledge of the Arabic with Husna videos based on the learning objectives outlined in the 2015 Dream Application Checklist.

The assessment will be conducted in two parts:
1) Online assessment. Students will be emailed a simple online assessment to complete once an application has been submitted and the application fee has been paid. Students may not use any notes or external help for this assessment
2) Oral assessment: Students will be asked to schedule an oral assessment with an admissions officer to recite the following AWH charts from memory:
- Harf of Jarr
- Harf of Nasb
- Muslim chart (once with the word Muslim and again with a word selected by the Admissions Officer)
- Pronoun Chart (both independent and attached pronouns)

Students can prepare for this assessment by reviewing on Arabic with Husna and completing this practice assessment.

You're almost ready to apply! Every applicant must submit three recommendation letters. Don't delay! Your application is not complete without them.

Only one reference may be from a family member or friend. References should be someone who knows the applicant well, such as a teacher, Imam, employer or colleague.

Please have your references answer the questions below and submit their answers directly to us at [email protected] as soon as possible. Please ask that references place the applicant's FULL legal name in the email subject line

* How do you know the applicant?
* What do you know about this applicant’s character and work ethic?
* Do you feel this person will be successful in a full time program of this rigor?
* Tell us about this person’s greatest strengths
* Tell us about any weakness that may hinder this person's success in the program

After successful completion of the assessments, an Admissions Committee member will schedule an interview with the applicant after his/her application is completed. The interview will take about thirty minutes and will cover topics such as:

o What practical preparations have you made to attend the Dream program? This includes budgeting, taking time off work/school, finding housing, moving, coping with being away from home for the first time, etc.

o What is your motivation for attending the Dream program?

o What programs local to your area have you considered in addition to the Dream program? Why have you chosen Dream over those programs?

o How well you work in groups?

o How well you follow policies and procedure?

The application fee of $124 must be submitted when you apply.

Once an applicant has been admitted, applicants must:
1. Make a $1,750 non-refundable deposit in order to secure a seat. The link to pay the deposit will be provided in the acceptance email.

2. The remainder of the tuition ($6,000) must be received by July 30th.
