Divine Speech
This single weekend seminar brings to light the literary marvel and subtlety of the Qur’an to English speaking audiences. Attendees need not have background in the Arabic language. The seminar comprises a series of discussions on literary issues pertaining to the Qur’an that are difficult to capture in translation such as the placement of Qur’anic stories, repetition, alleged grammatical errors, coherence and transitions from subject to subject, and more.

Why is This Course Important?
For the Muslim, the Qur’an is not only a book to be understood but also a book to be appreciated. Its language has awed scholars for centuries and yet most only get exposed to it in translation through which most if not all of its incredibly beauty fades. This seminar unveils for English speaking audiences the mystery of why the Arabic of the Qur’an is divinely beautiful.

Pre-Requisites for This Course?
Students who are able to read Quranic Arabic will benefit more, but it is not a requirement. Everything will be explained in detail in simple English.

Br. Nouman presented the Quran in a way I almost never heard – a HUMAN form. By human, I mean that it can be related to MY life, MY experiences, MY interactions, and so much more. After this class, I want to treat the Quran more like my friend, full of stories, advices, and wrapped in an eloquent style – rather than just a simple book.
My experience learning the various literary aspects of the Qur’aan on this minimal scale not only gave me a higher level of yaqeen (certainty), but also helped me develop an immense appreciation, love, respect and admiration for the Kalam of Allah (swt). This course motivated me to want to better myself as a muslimah and really get serious in learning and understanding this Book of Guidance. It also made me reflect on myself and state of this Ummah because we’ve abandoned the Qur’aan to mere memorization without even caring to know what it is Allah really saying.
